How to leverage Layers in the Editor

The Layers panel in Design Huddle is made to allow easy editing of elements that have one or more elements stacked on top of them. If there are multiple design elements layered in this way, the Layers panel will allow you to easily select the lower elements, edit them, and move them around if necessary.

To open the Layers panel and select/edit the lower elements, follow the below steps:

  1. Click on an element that is stacked on top of another element
  2. Select the Layered Elements option that briefly appears
  3. Select the element to be edited in the panel
  4. Edit it directly in place, or click the Isolation Mode button that appears in the panel to bring the element to the foreground temporarily
  5. Make edits to the element
  6. If in Isolation Mode, optionally select Preview to check out what the edits will look like with the element in its original position OR Done to exit this mode

Within the Layers panel element positions can be altered by clicking and dragging the move icon to the left of the element and re-arranging the elements as necessary.

Isolation Mode can also be opened by selecting the Isolate option that briefly displays when clicking on an element that is at least partially below one or more other elements, without opening the Layers panel.
