How to Manually Add Crop Marks to Print Designs

In the Editor, you can include crop marks in your PDFs during export for print media. This standard .125-inch crop mark adds white space along with crop marks to the edges of your project. However, if you prefer to add your own custom crop marks, you can manually add them as SVGs to the project and tag them not to be exported with the final file. This approach can be useful if you want to show users the crop marks on the actual design while they are editing or to set boundaries that need to be followed but are not to be printed.

To manually add crop marks, follow these steps:

  1. Ensure that the Classes and no_print options are enabled in your Editor. If these features are not available, please contact Design Huddle support at support@designhuddle.com to have them activated
  2. Upload your custom crop marks SVG file into the Editor after you have added your design
  3. Click on the custom crop marks
  4. In the right-hand menu, turn on the locking feature
  5. Click Lock All Attributes and select Force to Front to ensure your crop marks remain visible and in place
  6. In the left hand menu add the no_print class to the crop marks (after adding this class once, the class will remain in the dropdown and be selectable on future Projects)
