How to Lock Fonts

What Fonts can be Locked

Within any text element, the Font menu can be specifically locked to control what fonts users can or cannot select. For example, this is really useful if you have a Template where you only want the user to have the ability to select from their Brand fonts or if you have shared a specific font that you want used on a field. The font menu consists of the below Font Types. 

• Document Fonts - fonts found within the Project you are currently working on
• Brand Fonts - fonts related to a specific Brand 
• My Fonts - fonts uploaded by you
• Shared Fonts - fonts uploaded by you and globally distributed to all other users
• System Fonts - Global list of fonts available for all clients

How to Lock Specific Font Types

To lock the Font Menu follow these steps:

1. Click on the Locking icon in the right menu
2. Turn Locking On and switch to Configuration Mode
3. Select the Text you want to lock
4. Select the Font submenu to lock the desired font types
5. Choose the lock icon to lock the font types you want locked
6. Click on Save Locking Configuration in the right menu to save your changes

How to Lock All Fonts Except Desired Items

You can lock all fonts in a project while allowing only specific fonts to remain available. This helps maintain brand consistency while still giving users limited font flexibility.

1. In the left-hand menu, click Text
2. Click Add Header
3. Open Fonts and apply the font you want to allow in the project to the text box
4. Select the text and set the Fill to Transparent
5. In the right-hand panel, click the Locking icon 
6. Toggle Locking on and switch to Configuration Mode
7. Open the Font submenu
8. Lock all font options, leaving Document Fonts unlocked
9. Click Save Locking Configuration in the right-hand panel

Once saved, users will only be able to select from the allowed document fonts, and all other font options will be locked
