How to Justify Text in the Editor

Justified text allows you to align text evenly across the width of a text box. In addition to supporting justified text from imported PDFs, you can now apply justification directly in the Design Huddle editor.

You can also control how lines that do not naturally fill the full width of the text box are aligned.

When to use this

Justified text can be helpful when you want to:

• Create consistent edges on both sides of a text block
• Match the formatting of imported PDF content
• Create a cleaner column-style layout
• Control how shorter lines appear within justified text

How justified text works

When text is justified, Design Huddle adjusts the spacing between words so that each applicable line extends from the left edge of the text box to the right edge.

Some lines may not be stretched across the full width of the text box. These are referred to as unjustified lines.

An unjustified line is typically a shorter line where applying full justification would create unusually large spaces between words. A common example is the final line of a paragraph, which often contains fewer words than the lines above it.

The Unjustified Lines setting determines how these shorter lines are positioned within the text box. You can choose:

• Left — Aligns the unjustified line to the left side of the text box.
• Center — Centers the unjustified line.
• Right — Aligns the unjustified line to the right side of the text box.
• Justify — Expands the line so it fills the width of the text box.

This setting only controls lines that are not already being fully justified. The remaining justified lines continue to extend across the width of the text box.

How to justify text

To apply justified text, follow these steps:

1. Select the text element you want to edit.
2. Open the text context menu.
3. Click Justify.
4. In the left menu, locate Unjustified Lines.
5. Select Left, Center, Right, or Justify based on how you want shorter lines to appear.

Once selected, the text will use justified alignment, and any unjustified lines will follow the alignment selected under Unjustified Lines.

To change the formatting, select the text element again and choose a different alignment option from the context menu.

You can also change the Unjustified Lines setting in the left menu at any time.
