How to Hide Templates from Users

If you want to temporarily hide or unhide a Template from users globally, there are two easy ways to do this. You can either do it from the Templates tab or directly in the Editor.

  1. Go to the Projects main tab
  2. Click on the Templates subtab
  3. Find the template you want to hide
  4. Click the Ellipses
  5. Select Hide Template from the menu

Or

  1. Open the Template in the Editor
  2. Click the Publish Template button in the upper right corner
  3. Check Hide From Gallery if you want to temporarily withhold the Template from users

An expiration date can also be set when publishing a Template which would remove the Template from the users view once the date is hit.

If you would like to unhide a Template, just follow the same steps above and simply uncheck the Hide Template or Hide From Gallery option to make the template visible again.

MCP Support

A connected AI assistant can use the Design Huddle MCP to change an individual Template’s visibility. Because this affects the Template’s downstream audience, the assistant will identify the exact Template, show who may be affected, and request explicit confirmation.

Sample prompt: “Hide the ‘Old Pricing Sheet’ Template from the gallery, but do not archive it.”
