How to Create a Multi-Page Custom Shape Template

The Multi-Page Custom Shape Template feature allows you to import one PDF with multiple pages and turn the custom shape on each page into an editable area.

This is helpful for products such as vehicle wraps, packaging, displays, or other designs where each page has a different shape but should remain part of the same template.

Before You Begin

Before importing your PDF, make sure the feature is enabled for your account and the file is prepared correctly.

Contact support@designhuddle.com and ask to have custom_shape added to your classes list.

Your PDF should also meet the following requirements:

• Each custom shape must be on its own page.
• Each shape must be a single compound path.
• The file must be exported as a multi-page PDF.

**Please note that if a custom shape is made from multiple vector objects, you must combine them into one compound path before exporting. This helps ensure the shape imports correctly.

How to Import the PDF

To upload the file using the PDF Import Tool, follow these steps:

1. Hover over Create
2. Click Create New Project
3. Choose the Print media type
4. Click Import File
5. Select and upload your multi-page PDF

How to Configure Each Page

After the Project has been imported, repeat the following steps on every page:

1. Open the first page
2. Select Classes on the left side
3. Add custom_shape, and press enter
4. Open Background
5. Select Manage Bleed
6. Enter 1 for the bleed value
7. Select Already Includes Bleed

Repeat this process for each remaining page in the Project.

How to Test the Custom Shape

To confirm the setup is working correctly, add an image/text to the custom shape.

The image should be masked inside the shape and remain within its boundaries. Test each page to confirm that every custom shape behaves as expected.
