Best Practices For Leveraging Smart Templates

Smart Templates significantly increases the ease of Project editing by filling templates with predefined data. This enables your users to create Projects quickly with their standard fields auto-populated. While this article primarily addresses clients using Design Huddle out of the box, the service is also available to clients who have integrated Design Huddle into their platform via the Template Customization Object at no cost. To implement this without the using the API, please note that this is a professional service and will incur a cost.

Turnkey Implementation

The process begins when you provide Design Huddle with a custom set of variables and fields they wish to auto-populate.  These may include elements such as logos, images, text, and colors. These fields are then integrated into the designs as classes or tokens, which act as placeholders that will later be replaced by actual user data. For example, you can choose to pre-populate a phone number, logo, and client colors in specific spots of a Smart Template anytime a user creates a Project.

Fields can be marked with tokens like #name#, #email# or by adding a Class to an element. Based on this information, the Design Huddle team will create a custom page where the user specific data can be populated. Note that not all fields need to be used in every Smart Template and not all fields need to be filled out for all users.

Once set up, whenever a user initiates a project using these templates, the specified fields will automatically be filled with the information provided. This streamlines the Project creation process, ensuring consistency and saving time.

Please note, any updates to these forms or the addition of new fields may incur additional charges. This service not only enhances the functionality of the platform but also aligns with the needs of businesses looking for a more dynamic and customized user experience.
